There are lots of great events going on in October at the old Fryerstown School. Take a look here and add these dates to your diaries.
We’re pretty chuffed with the recognition the Fryerstown School refurbishment has received at the recent Mount Alexander Shire Heritage Awards. Awards for the Creative Reuse of a Heritage place and Sustainability of a Heritage place, and an overall award for Excellence.
Here are a couple of articles which were published.

Lots more planned for November and beyond …. but we’ll save that for another time.
We are pleased to announce that Denise Button has been appointed to assist in developing and facilitating community activities programming, and to coordinate hire and use of the old Fryerstown School facilities. Many of you will know Denise who has a professional background in this field and has been heavily involved in many volunteer activities in the region since she came to live here. We welcome her and wish her every success. I am sure she will appreciate your ongoing ideas, help and support to make the old school ‘hum’. Denise can be contacted on 0413 563404 or by emailing FryerstownSchool@gmail.com.
Denise says, “I’m excited to be involved in exploring and developing appropriate uses for the old Fryerstown School. It is a unique building in a unique location which is steeped in history. It has such potential to become a great space to bring people together for social, educational and artistic pursuits and I have been passionate about this since I moved here 12 years ago.”
We had two outstanding final applicants for the position which made it a difficult decision for the team, including Ron Moore as an independent Chairman. We are extremely fortunate to have such talented people who have passion for Fryerstown and for building our community.
